"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Diamond Mountain is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot that was brought up in 90% new French oak. This deep ruby/purple-colored beauty is one of the more opulent, hedonistic and textured in the lineup. Currants, chocolate, dried earth, and spice-box nuances all emerge from this full-bodied, plush, incredibly sexy Cabernet that’s going to cruise for 15+ years."

We were floored when we first tasted our 2015 bottling of Diamond Mountain Cabernet … and it appears the wine critics agree. The wine is again sourced from Andrew Geoffrey’s extraordinary 13-acre vineyard, perched at 1850' near the summit of Diamond Mountain. The soils of pure white volcanic ash yield a wine of extraordinary color and depth. Our 2015 wine features, for the first time, Cabernet Franc as well as Petit Verdot from the same block as our Cabernet Sauvignon, and additional dimension, class and depth in this blockbuster wine are the result.

ANDREW GEOFFREY VINEYARD, DIAMOND MOUNTAIN
With just 13 acres planted on the 60-acre site, the Andrew Geoffrey Vineyard’s unique combination of soils (volcanic ash and loam) and varying exposures (Northeast, North and Northwest) required custom rootstock and clonal selection to optimize use of the land and micro-climates within the vineyard. Today, after budding over the Merlot clones in 2003 to additional Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the vineyard is comprised of seventy-eight percent (78%) Cabernet Sauvignon, clones 337 and 15, both on 110r rootstock, eighteen percent (18%) Cabernet Franc of a proprietary clone on 110r rootstock, and four percent (4%) Petit Verdot clone 2 on 110r rootstock.
