Affinity 2017 marks the fourth release since the wine became all estate grown, and it is perhaps the most dense and intense Affinity we have offered to date, as our La Londe Estate Vineyard in Coombsville shows off its pedigree.

Fruit for this gorgeous wine is grown at 400′ elevation in the foothills of Mount George just south of Stag’s Leap. Planted in sparse volcanic soils, the 30-year-old cane-pruned vines bear a meager 2.8 tons per acre. Grapes are small, deeply black flavored and vibrant in the glass, with a backbone of acidity.

LA LONDE "AFFINITY" VINEYARD, NAPA VALLEY
Just south of Stag’s Leap, nestled in Coombsville’s Mt. George Foothills on the eastern side of the Napa Valley, our La Londe estate vineyard has produced exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon for our portfolio since Bob Craig purchased the property back in 1993. As a hillside, cane-pruned site that bears just 2.8 tons per acre, the 30-year-old vines allow a rare display of the volcanic, stony soils in the finished wines. Grapes are small, deeply black flavored, and undeniably racy with a big backbone of acidity.

The 2017 opens with aromas of black cherry, blueberry pie, dried floral tones and a dose of baking spices. Blueberry pie and plum emerge on the bright palate, which offers both grip and angularity on a long, lingering finish.
